i havent touched my switch (i just let my friend do the switch settings for me). i dont want to touch it either because im scared i will screw something up. but just out of curiosity, i want to know how to work it. i've been to the unoffocial x3 guide desperately trying to figure it out. it says there are 8 banks, but there are only 4 switches on the switch. im really confused, but as long as its working im not gonna touch it. im just curious.

Well have no fear touching it... as long as you put it back EXACTLY THE SAME WAY YOU FOUNFD IT!!! OMG so many people break their Xbox when messing around with those switches... :( so many :(.

No I'm just kidding, play around with it you cant hurt it but do put it back the same way you found it. And as for what they do diffrent combonations (I cant spell) do diffrent things like On On Off Off On --> that a 1mb bank... there are 2 of them. Off Off Off Off On --> that is automatic configuration and the last switch which most people always have On is the flash protect, that prevents you from accidentally erasing you FlashBios 3.0.X (Which, as the name states, is used to flash your chip).

PS: I just did some of the switch settings as an example, you'll probable get a frag if you change it to something and boot the Xbox (dont worry just move the switch back to where they were and it should be fine) so if your still not sure what the switches do, leave it alone "Dont fix it if its not broke" - Someone whos name I forgot.

ya im lookin at the switch and it is set to on on off off on... which i guess is 1mb with flash protect on. But what about bank 5, 6, 7, and 8. what switches control those?

Well I'm not 100% sure but I think there are eight (8) 256k bank modes, four (4) 512k, two (2) 1024 <-- THATS WHAT YOUR USING, and one (1) 2048 Here is another way of writing it:

Bank Modes:
256k/256k/256k/256k/256k/256k/256k/256k/
512k/512k/512k/512k/
1024k/1024k/
2048k/

There is only 2mb (2048k) of space on the X3 so you cannot have 1 256k bank and 2 1024k banks... I think you can mix and match the amounts though... as long as you dont go above 2048k. Again I'm not 100% sure about this however.

As for the switches part. I do not know anything about the 256k modes but I belive the 512k modes to be:
On Off Off Off On -->That would be bank 1 of the 512k.
Off On Off Off On -->That would be bank 2 of the 512k.
And so on...

As for the 1024k modes I know it is like this:
On On Off Off On -->That would be bank 1 of the 1024k.
Off Off On On On -->That would be bank 2 of the 1024k.

As for the 2048 I think it is:
On On On On On -->The only bank for the 2048k.

I really dont know much about the switches, but I do know that they control the diffrent banks the X3 loads.

Someone who has more than one bios on their X3 should be able to help more.

Hope this helps, and I know its kinda long  .

spoofing ap 2.5

hi all,

very stuck atm guys. i have a samsung ms25 drive, which is spoofed as my orginal hitachi drive. I upgraded it to lt 1.0 and my 360 to new kinect dash. However when i try to run new assassins creed it keeps telling me disc is unreadable.

I am aware of spoofing issues, so what are the solutions open to me

Thanks for all the help

Edit
I am able to install the game, i have read that both hitachi drives and sammy drives should be fine
