x3 switch is red and blue - why?

The chip, box, and switches/lights work flawlessly at first, but after a random amount of time of watching a movie on xbmc for example, the red light comes on with the blue on the x3 switch and when it is like that, the chip itself seems to be locked up - the xbox still works fine, but the x3 in game reset won't work when red/blue is on - as soon as i turn off then on the box it is fine again

This happened to me one time when playing DOAU2 off my hard drive.

Hasn't happened since so I don't know if this is the same thing.

I was told on the forums it was most likely a power spike.

sometimes after long play times my blue LED goes kinda dim, then even more dim when the LAN or HDD activity LED's light. most deffinately wierd.
