First time modding a 1.6(b) xbox, but I have successfully modded previous versions from 1.0 to 1.5 and I felt that this wouldnt be a big change.
When I initially modded the new Xbox and turned it on, the X3 mod chip was shining bright blue and I was quite ecstatic.
I then plugged in the external dip switch to see if I would get bright blue as well.
Unfortunately, I did not, Xbox started fragging. Cried I did and decided to go forum hunting. But before I jumped into the forum.
I really wondered If i had a 1.6 Xbox now... so, using the resources that team xecuter has given me, I checked xbox scene

Always always always check your xbox version first.
Luckily my assumption was correct, that I had a 1.6-1.6b (as it was purchased last week) xbox so using the lpc rebuild was ok.
Then I looked some more, stumbled upon this post.

After reading and believing that my soldering skills were supreme and seeing as how the user here thought his soldering was supreme,
I decided to resolder all the major my points on the LPC rebuild that needed to be soldered against the Pogo pins on pin header.
After resoldering and insuring a good connection, reconnected the xbox and i get a x3 blue light and an external switch blue,
as well as my lovely flash bios screen on my tv.
*Joy*
I should have done each major point one by one to really determine which was the cause of my anguish, but I just did them all to make sure. Oh well.
