Xbox Version - 1.6b
Bios - X3 1959
Xecuter 3 chip

Here's the problem:

After I play with the options in X3CL (x3 config live) and restart the xbox, it frags - on for 2 secs, off for 2 secs, on for 2 secs, off for 2 secs, FRAG. If I wait a few minutes, or even take the power out and put it back in, everything is fine, and the changes I made take effect.

Is this because of the bios, motherboard, or bios reacting to 1.6b motherboard?

EDIT: Now I can't even get it back to normal. What's the problem??

Thanks for all your help,
Alex

Hi,

I installed my X3 with an Xapt3r so not quite the same, but I had a similar problem, intermittant FRAGs, wouldn't boot with chip enabled and would boot to MS dash where I'd have to set the clock. I chesked everything and bent some of the pins on the Xapt3r so my chip was a little more secure on it and less wobbly which sorted everything out so I guess it was a connection issue. No problems since, so yours sounds to me like a bad connection.

Re-ckeck your soldering on the pin header.....Just because it looks good does not mean it is good.... Good luck

Very nice!

Stupid LCP rebuild PCB.

I took it off and did the LPC rebuild with wires. While doing this, I lifted one of the little wires on the board and needed to reconnect this too.

Pain in the ass! But it's all good now.

Thanks

loobyc - did I understand you correctly in that you removed the PCB and did a wire install instead and it worked?

I inadvertently did this, but now I am fragging. So I am wondering if I should undo all the wires and start over with the PCB.
