X3 & v1.6, unable to change bios

Hi guys, i'm new to modding and this is my first attempt. I have installed my X3 after rebuilding my LPC and everything lights up correctly. When i boot up i get to the Flashbios 3.0.0 screen.

When i try to install a bios (have tried 3 or 4 different ones) it installs and then shuts down. When i power it up again it powers up and down 3 times then starts fragging, displaying nothing.

I have checked the solder on the LPC a few times and think i have got everything right (double checked pins 13 & 14). Does anyone know what is causing this?

what xbox version and what bios version did you install? What are the switches settings? You mentioned lpc rebuild so it must be 1.6 or 1.6b?

I have an Xbox version 1.6v and was trying to install the X3_2914. My switches are set on on off off for the 1meg bank.

You flashed the wrong bios...
Boot from the other flashbios banks or use the backup bios by pressing eject and power button at once and flash again with X3 2914 v16plus.bin bios.
That should solve your problem

That's done the trick. Feel a bit embarassed now that it turns out to be something simply like that. Thanks for everyones quick replys to my posts, very grateful (You saved an Xbox from a visit by my hammer).

I just soldered in te chip...and I installed the wrong bios...

I have Xbox v1.6

I guess since this is the first time installing the BIOS...there is no backup...

how do I get back to the BIOS flash screen to do it right?

I can't boot with the power & eject...
