Ok

Ive search the forums and have found similar problems to mine but no solution.

Installed X3 Chip into V1.6B
Everthing seemed to be fine. Tested the 3 different modes, problems

Hold power for 1+ secs xbox boots into normal mode fine.
Short press of power, xbox frags.
Power and eject blank screen.

The first time i booted with chip enabled flash bios 3.0.3 appeared on the screen.

Tried to flash banks 3 + 4 with build 1957 from DVD disc.
During flashing the yellow indication bar went 100 % across once, then a green bar went to around 30 % completed and froze, left for 2 hours because didn't want to turn off but nothing changed. Had to turn off xbox,

Re-checked my soldering, everthing seems ok, no shorts, splashes etc.

Now my xbox just frags every time i try to boot with chip enabled.

HELP PLEASE

Thanks for reply,

I didn't know 1957 didnt work, DOH!
Got a copy today of 1959.
But cannot get flashbios 3.0.3 up on screen again since i flashed the 1957 and it crashed.
I have got a V1.3 with x3 installed though, so am going to try flash it while installed in that box. Cheers for help.

Anyone else got any suggestions in case i cannot do this?

Cheers kevz

Ok update,

I have a 1.3 with x3 installed. Works fine.
Just got a 1.6 b and installed another x3 into it. problems, usual blank screen, ms works, frags etc.

Swapped chip from 1.6b to 1.3 that works fine with its normal x3 chip.
Turn on frags in chip enable mode, backup brings flashbios 3.0.0 up and ms works fine, it is like there is no bios in enabled mode, this may have something to do with me trying to flash with 1957 when first installed 1.6b, (read above).
So my thought is that if i flash with 3.0.3 whilst chip is installed into my 1.3 then swop to the 1.6b everything should be ok as the 1.6b seems to be ok with 3.0.3, AM I CORRECT??? ADVICE PLEASE!!!

Also am i right in saying from backup flashbios, if i selected switches 3 + 4 on and insert dvd with flashbios 3.0.3 on it and select flash from disc this will update the flashbios to new version.

Surely you lot can tell im confused PLEASE HELP

Signed: Very confused bloke!

how can this be confusing ?

we already tell you in stickies why you would get a blank screen on a v1.6b

get the 1.3 - boot it up to flashbios or evox or whatever doesnt matter

hot swap to the chip you want to flash

then flash with the correct bios

if its v1.6b then of course you need 1959 v16plus

all very simple stuff and documented quite well in stickies

Thanks for your reply, i have read the stickies and i have checked and re-checked my soldering, i swopped chip to 1.3 tried to flash from dvd (1959 v16+ but will not recognise this disc and just says waiting for drive. I took resistance measurements, no short between pins 13 + 14, i do have a short between two of the pins though but that is where i soldered the 1.6 board on the back to do the rebuild, i also have a 30 ohm reading between two of the pins is this right?

So, Has Anyone Had Any Success With The CK3 Probe V2??

With this now been released, has anyone successfully been able to flash a 93450c drive with the Probe V2?

I was thinking of getting one soon, but was just seeing if any of you guys had any success so far... if you did, was it easy?

Was it just the same as flashing a 73450c drive with the original probe V1?

Re: So, Has Anyone Had Any Success With The CK3 Probe V2??

if you think using the probe v2 would be similar to flashing a 7xxxx then you are mistaken im afraid. If you look at the team xecuter web site there is lots of info there and allot of people getting it right but also getting it wrong.

Be aware that if you want to use the probe v2 then you have to make cut traces in the board and then repair the traces aslong as you get the right tools for the job and follow the tut properly then there is no reason why you wont be able to do it.
