I have 2 xboxes that seem not to want to disable itself. I have a 1.0 and a 1.6 Crystal (don't know if its a B or not).

The 1.6 when the X3 disabled boots then gives the RED/GREEN with a error code 13 which could mean that the xbox could not find the dashboard, but could access the drive.

The 1.0 when the X3 disables it tries to boot it but resets the xbox back to the X3 enabled.

Both HDs on both machines have been locked and have verified this a couple of times but I am really confused about the 1.0.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you upgrade the HDD or just install the mod chips, what method of install did you use also?

I used the Pin header install. Since the 1.0 holes were soldered in, I had to remove them in order to put in the pin header.

I also upgraded the HDD and locked the drive using the X3 BIOS. Boots fine under X3, but powers off and resets if I try to disable the X3.

On the 1.6 I used the 1.6 rebuild kit, but I am not worried about this one as error 13 is a dashboard issue.

I don't think the D0 point is bad as it is working if its pulling it down to GND when the X3 is on. I will double check.

Well... I found the problem with the 1.0 The D0 wire was pinched under the motherboard by the screw. The X3 was fine when D0 was GND, but when the X3 was disabled it put 3.3V to the D0 causing the XBOX to frag briefly until it reset back to X3 enabled. Not a a bad feature but a miracle blunder that could have toasted the box. The XBOX would not load the upgraded HDD in X3 disabled and figured out the drive as unlocked when I was experimenting. So I locked the drive and re-prepared the drive and loaded my stuff back on and LO AND BEHOLD its all GOOD!! Everything just works DANDY!!

The 1.6 well its still will not boot the XBOX dashboard when X3 disabled and shows and error 13. I will have to try and see if I can use UNLEASHX to format the drive and see if that solves the problem.
