i recently installed an x3 on my 1.6 xbox. the problem i was having is that if i pushed the x3 to fully cover the pins on the pin header it wouldn't work. whats funny is that if i push it a little less than half way on the pins it works fine. i've checked, rechecked, and then checked the solder points again and i'm confident it has nothing to do with them. any ideas?

Far from here!
Maybe they are too long and when they are all the way in there they ground themselves out and dont work.

just my 2 cents

yeah i mean it works the way it is now so i'm not going to screw with it. just thought it was odd that i can't push it down past half way...

i checked the solder points and one wasn't the best so i fixed that. i think the problem was that the pin header was grounding out on the bottom of the case. i put some tape over the entire lpc rebuild and the bottom of the pin header and now it works fine...... the solder gods smiled upon me.

Re: question

no because the keys will not match and your xbox will be unable to play games.

Re: question

why would you even want to do that? If you had a flashed drive on the rrod console that flashed drive will not work on the new arcade as Mr Pete says. You will have to read the key off the new xbox 360 drive then flashing it with an ixteme. I recommend you have someone doing it for you because you sound like a rook at flashing.
