X3 Wire Install - Item 10 Question

I unfortunately have an Xbox 1.0, so I have to do a wire install. It is my understanding that I will not use part 9, but will instead use part 10 in its place. I assume that the loose wires of part 10 have to be soldered to the points outlined in the second diagram at http://home.comcast.net/~x3guide/InstallationFAQ.htm

If the above assumptions are correct, I only have 2 questions. First, the location to solder the red wire (wire 3) is unclear to me, as it's a cut out image. Where do I solder this wire? And second, how am I supposed to physically mount the X3 without using part 9?

Thanks very much for your help.

i have a 1.0 and i just used a desoder to clear the holes, you dont NEED to use the wire install for the 1.0 and as for your question, i'm not sure.

If you use the wire install be careful as the sticky pad that sticks the chip to the side of the xbox metal shielding might be too thin. Once stuck to the side it could allow a pin on the back of the X3 chip to stick through and touch the metal xbox shielding and short the chip out.

Rudzz34, thank you very much for your response. Perhaps you can further explain this to me a little bit. The top image (which you said is the one to look at) shows a black plug next to the LPC. As I look at the black plug of part 10, I see that the color of the wires coming out of those holes corresponds to the black plug in the diagram.

So does this mean that I simply need to match up the wires (as they are color- coded on the black plug) to the LPC, and solder them to the solder-filled holes of the LPC, and then follow the rest of the pin header install instructions? Thanks again. I can't tell you how valuable the knowledge of people like you is to us newbies.

LiteOn 74850c questions on IXtreme LT

I recently flashed my virgin LiteOn 74850c to IXtreme LT using the MRA hack via 3 cuts & 2 jumps, and I can happily say it was successful! I just have 2 general questions:

1) Now that I have my OFW.bin file, will I be required to do the MRA hack again for future revisions of LT firmware? Or can I just connect the drive directly to jungleflasher and do what I need to do without opening the drive? If the MRA hack is required, would buying the Xecuter LT switch be recommended (http://www.ck3.co.uk/xecuter-lt-switch.html) to reduce wear and tear?

2) I have game saves from an unbanned console flashed with ixtreme 1.61. If I transfer these over to my LiteOn system, will that possibly flag my console for a ban in the future?

For question 2, it seems the emphasis on increasing the longevity of the system is to be sure it was not flashed with older fw (mine was virgin to LT, so I'm fine here) and that all backups were checked via abgx (I verified them to be good). There were no warnings whether or not importing game saves from an unbanned, older flashed fw system would be an issue when the LT was first released. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: LiteOn 74850c questions on IXtreme LT

thanks for the reply marshamods. it's good to know i can just modify the OFW for future revisions of LT in JF.

so i guess it's safe to say i can use old game saves from another unbanned ixtrreme 1.61 console to my liteon?
