X3 with Xapter Bios Problem

Okay I left everything at the default when I booted up my xbox. I am using the Xapter solderless adapter for my x3. The flash bios 3.0.1 booted up and I thought everything was good for a flash. I did not have the external switch hooked up at the time of the flash as I read in the tutorial that it will take the default first 1mb bank if I do this which was fine by me.

I went in and flashed the bios via http using the x3 2914 v16plus.bin. It went through and flashed the chip and powered off. I tried booting with a quick press of the power button. On the x3 chip I have 2 red and 2 blue. On the external display it is blue. However on the screen I get nothing.

I then tried holding in the power button for a second while it turns on. The external display flashes red and then goes blue again. I still have no video and no audio.

I then tried holding down both power and eject buttons and I get the same thing as the other two tries.

If any one has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

1.4 Just on a side note I switched my external switches to 1 and 2 off, 3 on and 4 and 5 off. Now it's booting to flash bios 3.0.3 which was a different version then when I was booting with all switches off... Of course with all switches off now it's dead

that is the problem. You have flashed a bios for xbox version 1.6 for a 1.4. You need to flash it with X3 2914.bin and not X3 2914 v16plus.bin. I would flash X3 2914.bin onto the working banks now and then deal with others later.

So I should leave my switch settings at 1,2 off 3 on 4 off and 5 (enabled of course) and flash it? The bin I have is 1mb. I just want to confirm that with these switch settings I will be flashing with with 1mb bios.bin Thanks again for the quick responce and all your help

try this first. Set switches to on on off off off. Press power and eject at the same time but hold it until your x3 control panel turns purple, that should bring up backup bios. If that didn't work, configure the switches to off on off off off and flash.

Again, you need X3 2914.bin

when you have ftp setup, pm me or post here and I will go over with you about putting 3.0.3 flashbios into your backup and get the other 1mb bank back :)
