X3 Won't enable

Hi,

I just installed a X3, but seems to be no way the chip will power on.
I double checked all connections and tried a X2.6 on the same header.
The X2.6 works perfect, but the X3 won't power on this brings me to the reset/eject panel as this seems the only difference in hardware configuration ?!
Anyone can tell me if there are any (known) issues with this panel ?

You need to give us a bit more info to hep you out, like what exactly happens when you put the X3 in? Do you get the 2 blue LEDs on the X3, what does the front switch panel do (blue logo, red logo?), what version xbox you have, etc.

Its a v1.6b xbox, the chip doesn't do anything, no lights no nothing.

you make it sound like its faulty

when you say a lot of people you mean around 20 - 30 people

compare that to 100,000+ on the streets and you will see its a tiny tiny fraction

if you feel the adapter is faulty - just send it back and get a new one - this always seems to be the absolute last thing people think of around here

ok so your problem has absolutley nothing to do with the power / eject adapter then :roll:

try installing the mod correctly and / or giving us a bit more info - what you have posted so far is absolutley useless

If nothing happens when you use the reset/eject adapter, you need to take the adhesive backing off and use your soldering iron and run it between any solder joints that look like they may be touching. Just make sure that there are no solder joints crossed. This is what was wrong with my reset/eject adapter and its a lot better than sending in for a RMA when there really isn't anything wrong with the chip. Even if you look at the chip and it doesn't seem to you like you've made a difference, just do it... that's how it was for me. I ran the soldering iron between all connections to split them and voila it worked fine after that.

OK, so I assume you've rebuilt the LPC, and have the alt 5v connected right?

You should get 2 blue leds on the X3 (5v and 3.3v power) for a start, see here:

You can completly remove/unplug the front switch panel from the X3 to elimate that as an issue, everything should run fine without it

......not sure what happens without the reset/eject adapter tho, like what (if any) leds will light up on the X3....anyone else know for sure?

I had a similar problem with one of the xboxs i modded.

You see the connecter from the eject/reset swich to the chip.
ok look inside this connecter for bent pins, infact check on all pins and see if it works. you might need a magnafiging glass and light.

xbox recognizes games as DVD's

haii

I'm in a bit off a problem here, when i try to start a backup game on xbox it shows up as a DVD, im talking about FFxiii. When i put in older games it does work without any problems at all and boots them up normally.

Right so i try to do something about it, but i don't know how to check what mod i have so i cannot go about updating it :?
I bought it modded and ready to go for a few years back. So can i check this somewhere?

Does xbox firmware have anything to do with it? i haven't updated this in a long while as my xbox is not online.

Do i have to do something "extra" to the game before burning?

im not really sure what else i can do?

updating your firmware to LT.........what drive and firmware u have now..........

if you bought it modded a few years back you'll probably have older firmware on it which wont boot newer wave games if its loading older backups no problem. also if you bought it a few years back you'll have an older drive so if your confident you could just try updating the firmware yourself seen as its really easy on older drives even for a novice, alternativly you could just send it off to someone to update it if your not confident, i recommend you download the jungleflasher tutorial and go from there.
