I've to the Xapt3r and it tends to get loose a bit (ver1.0 xbox), are there any issues in electrical taping it down? basically a better way to ask is, would it be bad to put a good amount of electrical tape directly onto the motherboard?

would it pull off solder points if I had to take it off and such? I ask because its not just taping down a simple wire or anything it should take a fair amount of tape to hold down the Xapt3r, anyone have any exp. with things like this? or at least know any possible issues I would have

I just want the thing rock solid without having to solder too much, once I get all the bells and whistles on it at least

why in the world have you bought the solderless adapter if you can solder???

anyway the electrical tape is not a good idea and you shouldn't need it if you have installed it right

Its all about laziness =)
actually I just figured I'd have so much soldering ahead of me that anything that gives me a bit of time away from the fumes would be a good thing.

on the Ver 1.0 xboxs the Xapt3r doesn't sit perfectly I was hoping to tape down the side that doesn't lay right since the pins on the xapt3r has springs under them and picks the far side up a bit

I figure I'll follow your advice and keep my electical taping to a minimum

Xbox 360 liteon swap

Hi, i have a console with a liteon 7 series drive, which has stated to give me disc read errors.

As i have another working 7 series drive was wondering is it safe to just flash that with the dumped files from my original 360.

Im just curious as the serial data for the two drives would differ, would this be a problem to play online?

thanks, any suggestions are much appreciated.

Re: Xbox 360 liteon swap

there would be no differing serial data as you completely erase the flash chip of the lite-on when you flash

your xbox would NOT see anything different from the current drive
