I have searched this forum and have come up with no results for my problem. I have a 1.4 xbox with the xapt3r and X3 (not CE) installed. It has flash bios 3.0.0. I have the samsung DVD drive. My external thing lights up blue when I power on my xbox.

Now that all the details are out of the way, here's my problem: My eject button does the same thing as my power button. This did not happen before I installed my modchip so I know it's related. I can turn the console on no problem and get to the flashbios screen. I select 'load bios from disc' and the tray opens. I insert my disc and pust the eject button- IT POWERS IT OFF. I have tried just pushing in the tray; then it just tells me the CD-ROM label. Holding down the power button to turn it on gives me a red and blue light at the same time and also goes to flash bios.

It's late so I'm sure I'm leaving something out but that's all I can think of now so ask if you need any other info. Thanks.

check the power/eject pcb adapter supplied with the chip. there may be a bridged trace that is causing this to happen. simply lift the sticky black panel off the back of it and check for any bridged traces or connection points and try and sort them out if there are any. what happens when you power on the xbox with the chip disabled? do you get the normal M$ dashboard? if so try pressing the eject button in that state and see if it has the same effect.

As stated in my first post, it is not possible for me to boot with the chip disabled; holding the power button makes it go into flash bios. There does appear to be a couple of solder point connected. Is there any way to seperate them without using a soldering iron? As you might be able to guess from me owning the xapt3r, my soldering skills are somewhere between very poor and complete crap. Is there a way to possibly exchange it with a good one from team xecuter?

EDIT: Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera to take a picture but the to point that are connected are the ones between the cable connection that runs to the xecuter itself and the other 2 wire connection beside it. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Got It

I got it working. I did not want to even go near a soldering iron (I know, I suck at life) so I got my exacto knife and carefully cut the solder apart. I am a little annoyed about the crappy workmanship of my modchip but I am very happy to have it working. Thank you very much desolate_one for suggesting the solder points on the power/eject adaptor cause I probably would not have thought about this. You saved me a lot of time and I really appreciate it. Now to go play with the xbox...
