I got an X3 / Xapter bundle for Christmas, which I tried to install this evening, following this guide.
Unfortunately, as I was pulling the IDE cable from the DVD drive, the connector snapped. In all the PCs I've built, I've ever built, this has never happenned, but hey. Anyway... I continued but couldn't get any life out of the mod. I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong, but I couldn't find any other guides to tell me what exactly...
Anyway, so I removed the mod, trying to get my box back to where it was, but because I have a broken cable I was unable to do so. Upon booting it again, I see the boot screen (usual green stuff) but then the Eject button LEDs flash green / red and it tells me I need a service.
So, two things...
Is the 'error' screen just because of the faulty / missing cable.
How do I go about fitting the X3 / Xapter, if not using the above guide?
It also appears to me that with the X3 I got loads more bits than shown in the guide - are these obsolete in a wireless install?
Any help would be appreciated, largely because I can't even watch DVDs now my XBox is out of order.
Cheers.
