Just installed my new X3 on my v1.6 machine, all the soldering went well

turned on the xbox with a quick press of the power button and it restarts a couple times and then stalls/crashes and the ring light around the eject button flashes red and green

so i try to boot up normally, press the power button for a few seconds...and it boots up fine

then try to use backup by pressing eject and power....same thing as before, reboots a few times and then flashes red/green

any idea where to look for a screw-up? i used the pin header install if that helps

Apparently, it didn't. ;)

Need to check your solder joints again. You have a loose / dry connection somwhere.

Also, are there two blue lights on the chip lit up when you turn it on?

I am talking about lights on the chip itself. As in ON THE MOBO

Check those. Let me know.

Means that your chip is getting power.

So, you just need to recheck your solder joints.

You have one (maybe more) that are just not getting a good connection.

Sounds like you are really close, though.

excellent, i'll go examine each of the solder points....hopefully a little tweaking will get this thing up and running

thanks for the help!

success!! after looking over all the solder points, they all looked like they should be good enough of a connection, but since i was determined to get it working i figured i would re-solder the pin header connections....

in the process of prepping the pin header, i noticed that i completely FORGOT to solder the LAD3 point to the rebuild PCB for the LPC rebuild...yikes

so i soldered that point to the board, crossed my fingers, and fired it up

works like a charm! now i just need to figure out how to use this thing!

thanks again for the help!
