The V2 has power and SATA in one unit so no, you won't need to purchase an additional CK3.

You will need to identify your drive's chip first: MXIC = Sputnik360, Winbond = Unlocked PCB or kamikaze hack.

The V2 not only supplies power to your drive but also enables you to read/write to your drive (it's an X360USB Pro/CK3i all-in-one).

I don't want to sound intimidating, but I think you need to read the product description ;).
