Hi all

I must say i haven't really had too many major problems but i've came across one now.

I flashed my bios on Saturday with the 3294 on Banks 5678 (1mb) everything seemed to go dead-on. Verified the flash etc.

It then rebooted my xbox and the screen was blank, in saying that there IS Sound, although alot quieter than normal!!. (turned up the Pro Logic AMP) i don't know where i went wrong, the xbox is still functioning on the old bios. I have a v1.6 mobo and have read that pins 13 and 14 might need re-checked! Although it's working on the older bios (Banks 1234), surely this then can't be the case. I flashed the bios via X3CL.

The only reason for the flash was that i have a 200gb HD installed and with my bios it doesn't seem to allocate the Space on the 'G' Drive.

Any information would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance

Bios

Cheers xboxmania...

Can anyone recommend a bios that supports the G Drive function, as my current bios doesn't. Bearing in mind i have a v1.6 motherboard.

thanks

All X3 BIOSes support a G drive, although there was a bug with one of the versions. Read the changelog.txt which was in the file you downloaded.

Sorted

Hi all

Just got it sorted about 30 mins ago... Wot a noob i've been!!!

There was me flashing away at the modchip, going back through various releases, reading through Config Live (not enough tho!!), wondering wot the f**k was gong on....

I knew the bios files were ok and i knew that they had flashed 100%, it done exactly wot it said it would, turns out i was Using the wrong bios(es)!!! Serveral times!!!

I would have swore blind that i had a v1.6 mobo turns out it's v1.0.. I chipped a v1.6 and v1.0 for me and a mate.. lol..

So take note 'Newbies' when flashing check, check and check again..

Thanks all.

@ Martin C

I chipped these boxes sometime ago, i was just under the impression that i had the 1.6 box and didn't think to read the Config Live xbox info. If i had the xbox open then i would of known straight away.

@ Rookio

Well you learn something new everyday.. lol

From my earlier post i said that i didn't get picture, but there was sound.. I turned my amp up and there is sound. If you where to run your sound off the Normal TV Speakers then i would doubt that you would hear any, but through the AMP yes you can or at least i did.

Anyway thanks for all your advice and replying back to my posts.

Just to add ...

If you ever want to check quickly what version an Xbox is and it has FlashBIOS on it, just boot it up. The Video Encoder information should be available at the top of the screen...
