I have a xbox 1.6 and installed a X3 CE (flashbios 3.0.3 included) with 1.6 LPC rebuild PCB. The installation went fine, I can boot with the X3 enabled or disabled. The problem comes when it's time to flash. I see the flashbios 3.0.3 screen with all the options, but the problem is my controller (original-no cordless) does not work in the flashbios 3.0.3 screen, I cannot navigate the flashbios menu, so I can't flash my bios. I do not have any dongles, I'm just running my xbox with orginal out of the box equipment and X3CE installed with LPC rebuild.

Does anyone know this issue ?
Is there a way to get around this problem ?
I wanted to try a different version of flashbios 3.0.1, but how can I program or overwrite my 3.0.3 with the 3.0.1 ?

Thanks a lot for your help
Eric

One of the following WILL work:

Original MS Controller
DVD Remote Dongle kit.

There's a known issue with a certain release of Xbox which the DVD Remote kit is the only thing known to change the options.

Also, make sure there is no memory card in the controller. And sometimes if more than one controller is plugged in it will cause a problem.

Great help guys...thanks a lot. It worked with the DVD remote dongle kit, but I got so excited to be able to flash my chip that I forgot to change the position of my external swith before flashing. They were all set to "off" which is the 2Mb. It might not be the right place to post this question, but did I screw up something. Is there anyway I could just flash it to the first 1Mb (on on off off) ? Or no big deal at all and leave it as is ?

Thanks so much
Eric

alright, just to make sure I understand everything, I can just boot from the backup bios, set switches to on on off off off, and flash the bios again. And how about if I want to change my flashbios from 3.0.3 to 3.0.1. Do I have to change switches again before flashing? The reason why I want to change my flashbios is because it's suppose to solve my first original issue...unable to navigate menu in flashbios 3.0.3.

thanks,
Eric

Once you've correctly flashed your X3 BIOS (yes what you said will work), you won't even need FlashBIOS again. You can reflash your X3 via X3 Config Live.

Leave the FlashBIOS as it is.
