what the hell is the deal w/ linux on an xbox n e wayz the only things ive herd good about it were that its just simply open source and versitile (as linux is known for) but what all can i even do w/ it aside from normal pc operations and sh*t?

ok i got everything working but the xbox does not connect to the IRC, having problemsdownloading the skins and updating avalaunch what could cause this problem i sucessfully downloaded a few skins than i started getting an error (somthing w/ the extracting) what could cause this?
where can i find a simple .iso for AID 3 i downloaded it and everything but its a bunch of files all i want is a simple iso i dont have a clue what to do w/ the files contained in the download (also downloaded AID 3.1 and not shure how to use it though it does have dvd2xbox and a few other programs i have been interested in on it)
ok the download should have the iso file in it just burn it like a game.
to update to 3.1 it has a bit of software to do that for you a howtoo is in the download as well much better with updates as well a option to uninstall what you install

if i choose 2 install avalaunch what will it effect? only the dash or will it effect the rest of the existing apps. and games on the HD?
that the good thing about AID3.1 it only installs the dash and will not effect the rest of your hard drive i just installed a app useing it and did not like it so uninstalled with AID3.1 no prolbems unlike slayer inf you install useing that it formats you hard drive

hi i have been [email protected]#king around with avalanuch and got it to work i have attach a avalanuch.xml file that has the updated settings i have allso bump up the fan speed to 60% you can change it by hiliteing xml file right click and open with notepad find fan speed and change it to what your needs then ftp it to the folder that has the old xml file delete that then ftp over new one hope this works
ever time you update the xml file the fan speed will go back to 20% so you will have to patch it bump up fan speed

DAMN it i did somthing to lock my self out from the FTP again what the hell i cant connect from the X3 config nore avalaunch any suggestions all i didi was unlock my HD, change the XML, and enabled the DHCP on the X3 BIOS

what other FTP client are suggested asside from FLA FXP that are free ware and work well w/ the xbox?
ok never mind the previous posts i messed around w/ some stuff (mostlu reviewed the XML and i forgot the user name and password for the BIOS FTP)
but i have one other question im working on installing my 160 GB HD i have formatted and partioned the HD w/ an EVOX disn but i dont thing the hd was partioned correctly there is some space on the HD that i think is missing i cinnected the HD and FTP'ed to it and only got a few GB insdead of the full 160 GB capacity i will also be posting the FTP screen i had seen when i was connected how can i tell if i got it all corret or not ??

ok but i see no G:/ and my F:/ says there is 0 bytes availible how do i know the size that is availible and did i do sothing wrong??
Also is there msome settings that i need to set up in the X3 BIOS that i need to turn on to suppor a larger HD ??

ok ppl that wraps up my xbox project now i guess all i need to do is play w/ it and what not lol speeking of which poida^ what linux distro can i only assighn a single partion to my G:/ is only about 24 GB about the right size to run a small OS on so i am verry interested in this possiblity ive read through the site a couple time and a few distros say that i can assighn linux to run from only 1 partion but no real instructions follow
