I just installed a X3CE with PCB 1.6 rebuild. I have a 1.6
Modchip will be disabled if i hit POWER but enabled if i hit EJECT.

youre probably "hitting" the power button a bit too long. at first i thought something was wrong with my install too, but you have to hit it really quick, do not hold down and it should work fine.
if this is not the case, then i dont know whats wrong other than it might be the x3 daughter board, but i doubt that.

woke up this morning, tried to quick tap the power button, now the X icon does NOT light up no matter WHAT i do
