Hi,
Just got an XBOX 1.6 and a new Xecuter 3 CE with LPC rebuild
I followed the instructions 100% on the following page
http://www.geocities.com/rcoulsell/x3ce/x3cepin16.html
The soldering went perfect (no FRAGING).....Boots up, flashes bios, plays fine.
Here's the catch/question. No where does it say how snug the chip should fit on the pin header. Does it snap in hard and does it sit flush on the pin header?
Mine is loose and does not sit snug to the header. I can see the pins under the chip. I have to gently wiggle the chip to get all 3 lights on (and when they are on everything works 100% perfect).
I didn't want to "push too hard" to get the chip to fit snug against the pin header, but i'd like to get it a bit more secure...Any thoughts?
Also, all the pins are exactly the same height. and I'd assume that when the chip is gently wiggled on the pin all the leds light up and everything works as advertised then I'd assume that my soldering is 100% correct (if it was a bad solder then I'd think that very gentle wiggling would not do anything).
Thanks in advance,
Rez
