X3CE will not flash with protection turned off ? help plz not noob

Hi all
The problem is that i started a flash of the new 3029 bios to my X3CE (banks 1234)and it froze half way through :(
I knew that the only thing that I could do would be to restart the box to Flashbios and flash the bios to the banks again. However when i tried to do this as i have done many times before to many xbox's it is telling me " Unknown Flash - Halted " ?
The flash protection is off on my X3 chip and on the X3 Pro switch i have unstalled. I have even take the box apart to check if the light is in fact red on the chip while im trying to flash and it is ? I have seen peeps in other posts saying its a case of turning off the flash protection but its off ?
Please help if you can because my xbox is in a coma and i miss it lol.

I have the same problem

I am using a X3 CE with a 1.6 box. I was using ftp transfer. I tried both on,on,off,off and off,on,off,off. Flash protection is definately off. the backup bios is 3.0.1. thats all that i have to work with now. I had flashed 2914 successfully, but now i cant get 3209 and lost my 2914 in the process. It boots MS bios fine and boots on backup fine also. but now when i try to boot with the chip the system turns on then off then on then off then finally on and FRAGs. I know my solder points are good because the chip has already worked fine. Someone please help, I am so frustrated I'm about to nuke my xbox.

wow, disregard that last post.... I just tried to flash it and it suddenly worked, didn't do anything different. Blew my friggin mind..... I need to go to sleep now.
