can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the x3 and x3ce chip, as far as the installation of it to the xbox. i understand that the 5v is different and few other modification, but the question i am trying to get answered is, will the installation process still be the same or not.

Yes the installation is the same as the X3.

The X3CE has a more secure connector on the chip for the 5v connection. Plus it has LED's that indicate wether or not flash protection is on. And various other little stuff like that.

As far as the function of the chip goes, it has not changed at all.

the installation is almost the same. Some of the adapters are a little changed around, and theres a solderless 5v connector for the 1.6. other than that, its the same thing..ohh and you have to remove pin 6 from the pin header.

Thanks for the response and the help i have received, but in reguards to the connection other from removing pin 6, are the pic connections yhe same and also the lan led, hd led and d0, did those basic connection have any difference.

or are we talking about the 90 degree turn that the x3lcd would connect to and the 5v changing from a pin connection.

Follow the tutorial for the X3 installation, nothing has changed at all. All of the wires can only be plugged onto the X3CE one way. If you have a 1.6 Xbox follow everything in the tutorial for the 1.6. It’s straight forward and rather idiot proof.
