Brick Question

Let me apologize first if this is not where this belongs.

Well i was playing around with the firm ware and did something changed somthing i shouldnt of lol. anyways when drive is connected to xbox and system is powered on. System always reads opening but when eject is pressed nothing happens .
I know this means the drive is bricked/broken? But is there a way to fix this? I tried using the 360 modification Disc 1.6 rev.2 but it doesnt detect drive, i know its not my chipset cause jf, dosflash and everything else use to detect it just fine.

Is there a way to connect to the drive and write back the original F/W if anyone has any ideas please let me know. O before i forget it is a BENQ drive with a creation date of January 2008

Re: Brick Question

i hope you saved the orig fw from the drive?
this is an easy fix you need to use jf
hook the drive up with power off then send intro device id answer yes then yes again then wait for dots to appear in the comman screen below then power the drive on
you should now get a status 0x72 ifso write the fw to the drive.
good luck

You obviously flashed it with messed up firmware, the drive will not work normally if it doesn't have the right firmware. The firmware tells the drive how to respond and what to do. The drive doesn't know to eject when you press the eject button if the firmware on it is messed up and can't interpret this.

If Jungle Flasher detects the drive, and you have the original firmware - then there is no problem. Your drive is not bricked. It would be bricked if you didn't have the original firmware for it and then flashed it with firmware that didn't have your DVD key.

By the way, what did you do with the firmware before you flashed it?

Re: Brick Question

I have original firmware, problem lies in that jungle flasher or anything for that matter no longer detect drive. should i purchase that little chip so i can power drive from computer, would that make a difference?
I can get nothing from this drive right now

You need to power your drive somehow or nothing will detect it. A connectivity kit definitely makes things easier, but using your 360 for power should work fine (I assume your drive was detected by Jungle Flasher before you messed it up, so your SATA setup should be okay). Try spoofing another drive into your 360 and see if it works.
