hey i was just wondering how exactly is the wireing for the usb and other things (i know that the other things like the lcd and switches have the same hookup as before) and can we have some pics and info i mean i would really like to see how exacly the usb ports are going to be piggy backed on the 3 &4 ports (i have heard some talk bout the relay method but that one of the thing i owuld like to have cleared up) but also is it going to be plug and play or is there soldering involved if so can we also have pics and info for that proccess

now who else want this info

also feel free to add to my questions

i assume it will be plug and play, just like pro switches and xlcd
for usb its tapped in to controller 3 and 4 ports and it might have a little pcb, just like the reset eject solderless when installing the x3
and i was also wondering if we could see some pics if its not to much trouble
:p

well my guess is that yes there will be a pcb and you will just unplug the controler harness and plug the pcb where the harness used to go then plug the orig harness into the new pcb

but again i would still love pics  :D

I think xboxmania is spot on, I think it's highly unlikely it will need any soldering at all.

It's only a few days until it leaves the factory so just hang in there a bit longer and all the info you need with be freely available, it's gunna be a very popular item judging by the number of email enquiries we have been receiving.

yea the x3cp is by far the best looking add on for the case ive ever seen. And most people would probably screw the xbox case over trying to get the xlcd in unless they were good with that kind of stuff. Youd also need the right tools for it to make it look good.

pics have been posted all over the place, I doubt much has changed. It's supposed to be released within the next week or two, so just cool off man.

It's plastic. It screws on. It plugs in. It looks nice. It has USB. The USB piggybacks off the controller ports (since that's essentially all they are is modified USB ports). It has the push button bank switches. It has space for an IR mod.

It's sweet. It'll be here soon.

I know how ya feel, I'm an addict too. I check xbox-scene at least 5 times daily waiting for new stuff. (and a little Off topic but this smartxx 12 days of christmas crap is lame "2 new features... 4 more new features" if you're gonnd do something 'clever' like that, you can't give up on the 4th friggen day gah... /rant)

dude thats not the point of this post i mean we have all seen the pics of the x3cp but not of its wireign and not of what the inside of the box looks like after the install

i mean we all now the specs (well except for the exact on the usb's) but we have no pics of the stuff you dont see when its closed up and how it all fits in and where exactly it fits i mean does it lay like the x3 (prolly not) or does it stick to the sheilding like the eject solderless control thing

Liteon DVD Drive Problem, NEED Advice

Hello everybody. Well today i got an Xbox 360 from a dude which is leaving Iraq since we are replacing his unit. Since he is going back to the US he gave away a lot stuff. He gave me a 360 which will turn on, you will see the dash board BUT wont load games, music Cd's or DVD's. I am really good with computer so i took apart the 360, and took the DVD drive out and apart. On the inside everything is in place, nothing broke, the lens rail is good. belt is good. So i moved manually the laser down the rail and turned on the box. I opened the tray and closed with a game inside. Noticed that the laser goes on and then about halfway the rail and back, that's it. Also a few time the tray will open with no problem, and sometimes it wont open. So here is my question since i don't think he never tried to mod it, what should i do:

Try fix it? Buy what ever part you guys tell me? or buy the whole thing? and if the best way is buy the whole thing, even though if i buy the same exactly drive, will it work, since its not the ORIGINAL one? I have no problem on buying a new one since the 360 was free. Let me know what you guys thing. Here is all the specs for the 360 and DVD drive:

PHILIPS & LITE-ON:
HW VER A0A2
FW VER 83850C
JUNE 2009
MS PART # X800474-009
3B41216033

XBOX 360:
MFR DATE 2009-06-11
SERIAL # 2160955 92405
PRODUCT ID # 01589522216095592405

Thanks.
p.s also since i have all apart, should i try to mod it? if yes, whats the best way for my 360 model?. I know soldering and all that good stuff so let me know.

Re: Liteon DVD Drive Problem, NEED Advice

you need to get the key from the drive (its married to the motherboard) - so that would be necessary to be able to replace it!

If the drive hasnt been tampered with (flashed already) then chances are its just the laser thats shot!

but getting the key is simple enough as that should be a 83850C v 1 (going by the date you supplied)

Read the jungleflasher tutorial for the "How to"

So what i need to do is run that jungle flash on my old drive to get the key, and write it down. buy the same drive of the internet. replace it on my 360, and run that jungle thing again, but this time input the old key in, and ill be good to go. and if i decide to mod it, i need to download the latest ixtreme for my drive. Now my question is, do i need to get any info from inside the xbox 360? i mean from the cipsets? i mean since the drive from my understanding is married to the motherboard. Also i wanna mod the 360in a way that i can borrow original games from my friends, extract games to iso or similar, and burn to a dvd disk and play, will the ixtreme do it? thanks

all you need to do is get the drive key from the old unit then
spoof it to the fw the replacement drive requires

except if you replace a lite-on with a lite-on
no spoofing then

you can write any lite-on firmware to any lite-no drive

So if i replace with same drive i just need to input old keys.but if i decide to go with another drive such as toshiba, hitachi, samsung, or benq i need to do something else which i guess is spoofing.now if im right whats spoofing? also what drive would you guys recommend me to buy? and if i buy another brand of drive i need to input old keys right?
