I cannot figure out how to fit the lcd into the front of my xbox. i have read the fitting instructions on your website, and that did help. but what i need to know is how to actually fit it in the front. i know peoplw use dremmels, but when i took apart the xbox, i noticed that the protecting metal box over the motherboard was kind of at an angle or something so its slanted at the front. if i wanted to fit it in it would have to be crooked and pressing against the metal case HARD. if anyone knows any tips, or any other places i could put it please help.

You use the dremel to cut out the front panel. Then what i did was cut a section out of the metal shielding so that the lcd fits flush against the front pannel. Make sure that you use electrical tape on all exposed parts so you do not short anything. It is fiddly work but the end result is worth it.

it took me forever to get mine fitted because of the top panel...dont know if anyone else had this problem but make sure that you check where to fit the xlcd to the top panel first to get an idea how far it goes (the fitting edge gets smaller as you move to the right to the point that if you move too far to the right the top will not close) that will give you a better idea of where to fit it on the FRONT panel. hope that helps out!

Cheers everyonefor the help! Gav, your box would look really cool with the pro switch, anc a rathode rope thing going round the X.
Not sure about the Pro Switch, but will prob get one to check it out. I have 8 LED's round the jewel

Yeah been looking at the cathode rope thingy, maybe I will give it a go soon.

Very nice! You make me want to buy a crystal, just so I can do something very similar! You did a very nice job fitting the LCD: looks like it came from a factory like that! If you can find something else to do, well, keep it up! :)

EDIT:
I suppose I do have a few suggestions, but that is all they are: suggestions. Perhaps you might want to paint the buttons a light blue? I don't know what you'd think of that, but it might work. Or, if you REALLY get into it, modify the buttons. Dremel the power and eject buttons so the ^ thingie and the 0 thingie are actually cut out. Then, fill in the space beneth them with a little hot glue, and put in very small blue LEDs under them. I know that is where the actual power and eject buttons are located, but with a little work and lots of skill, somebody could potentially have their buttons glowing, as well as the ring around the eject button. I don't think I described that very well, but a few people might get what I mean. :)

You know what? Disregard the above paragraph: just leave it. I was just talking out of my ass.
