It could be... but the v1.0 has solder in the LPC holes that will need to be removed first. I would say that if you are going to be industrious enough to remove the solder properly you may as well go with the pinheader install and solder that puppy in.

I thought you could install it with the solder in the LPC holes. It just wouldn't be as stable as it would without solder. But it isn't called a solderless/desolderless adapter  . Any comments K3rn3l?

Any new Hitachi firmware? (Newer than iXtreme 1.51)

I have been checking this site pretty often and have noticed all other drives getting updates and such, but the hitachi's status remains @ iXtreme 1.51...which has me asking why? and when or if there will be a new firmware for that type of drive? I have been aware of people being banned while using 1.51 on their hitachi so I would like to see something more ban-proof than that possibly even just better? (not saying it is not great, I know the coders out there always come up with new ideas and ways to improve or customize / add things to the firmwares)

check out the top right corner of this site...you'll see the heading LATEST FIRMWARE

firmware will be released when it is released
in fact, i doubt that hitachi LT will ever be developed

you can always spoof a benq or samsung with LT, though

I was aware of the LATEST FIRMWARE section there, which is where I get my immediate information from. Thanks anyway for that.

yeee i dont think they will release it only because there are so many variations and different drives of the hitachi to make fw for, it has always been behind, and yee the so called helpful comment about, u could try and read the person post first before giving advice, seeing as he stated that he has looked at the latest firmware and has noticed no change, no need to talk down to him.
