Xapt3r Not Working

Alright, here is my situation. I have my Xapt3r plugged in and it lights up blue but now when I put the chip on it it glows red as well. It also turns off and on 2x before starting the Xbox completly and then just goes to a blank screen. There are also a few wires I am wondering about. Does the Xapt3r still require that I solder those 2 wires? LAN and HDD, I believe.

Also XxCronus, or whatever your name is, I've read a few of your posts and don't bother replying to this with another one of those remarks because you'll just be wasting your time on someone who really doesn't care what you think.

Hahhahahaahha, its nice that someone actually read up on former posts like this, good job. I'm serious. I really wish there were more people who would research their problems.

Ok, now about yours, did you ever try soldering in the chip prior to attempting an install with the Xapt3r?

If this is the first time you have tried putting an X3 in your Xbox, then you should just check to make sure that the Xapt3r is seated correctly.

What version is your Xbox? If it is a 1.0 or a 1.1 (in 1.1's this is rarely the case), then did you desolder the LPC holes?

If you can't fix it with something from above, you should just use a multimeter or ohmeter to check for continuity between the tips of the pins and the copper around the LPC holes.

Haha, yeah I read through a few posts, but I got it to finally boot up in the FlashBIOS. Something was wrong, I think I might have had too much tension on the Xapt3r like you had mentioned before in another thread. It was either that or the wire(don't know what to call it ) was in the wrong hole.

Thank you for replying, though. Off to install EvoX now.

Retail vs. Backup Games

I have a Lite-On Drive with the iXtreme LT 1.1 firmware and I had a quick question concerning retail vs. backups. I know if I play my backup copies online that I am subject to being banned from live. Now I haven't played anything on Live in FOREVER but I want to get back into it and I was curious if I went out and bought a retail copy of lets say Black Ops and updated my dashboard and played it on live (I am running the old dashboard, I don't even hook my 360 up to the net these days) would I get banned from live?

Ideally I'd like to get a new 360 anyways but there is a nice sale on Blackops that pretty much comes with an almost free year to live that I'd like to pick up. But don't want that full year to get screwed over.

Re: Retail vs. Backup Games

no one knows for sure if you will be banned from LIVE for LT

it doesn't matter whether you play backups or retail (online or offline), you still will be subjected to potential bans

you might as well play backups online
