i know i know...solderless is a waste and all but i was just wondering if the new xapt3r will work on all modchips. i use a wide array of chips so i need to know if all of em would work on this adapter. i know XS' previous xapter worked with all modchips but i don't know about the new xapt3r. i know how to solder and have done plenty of xbox installs. but i just needed a solderless adapter so that i can easily fix a xbox and maybe unlock and lock hard drives without actually solderinga modchip to the lpc holes. it's a hassle when i have 5 stock xboxes that all have error 6 and i have to solder and resolder on each one just install another drive.

Not to be an ass, but this is an X3 forum.

We don't have input or interest in other chips.

Basically the Xapt3r is just a pin header that doesn't need soldering. If your chip works with a pin head fit then it will work with the Xapt3r.

I like to help people out just like anyone else.

Just seems strange to me to give install support for X2 in the X3 forum.

Seems really strange to give Xapt3r support for competetors chips.

I thought the Xapt3r was for the X3 or am I mis-guided (Wouldn't be the first time)?

Anyway, I don't want to fight with you..I have read several of your posts lately and you seem like a nice and helpful bloke! That's the way it should be..

P.S. I have added + to your brownie points (reputation) !

THANX for the points!!!!!!

Sometimes I get a little drunk and aggrovated (and arrogant).. LOL!

Most times I like to do as much as I can to help.

I am pretty certain Xapt3r is only for X3 as well. I don't read up on it much because I only do solder installs. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong as well.

I wouldn't like to fight with you either; that isn't the point of the forums.

It just seemed a little off-base that someone would ask if Xapt3r would work on non-Xecuter chips. In all actuallity, it's not my place to say.

*humbly bows out*

The Xapt3r will work with any modchip that utilizes "d0 control" meaning that the missing LPC pin is connected at the modchip side and not the motherboard side. Most current mods utilize this feature (X3, X2.6, Xenium, Chameleon, SmartXX, XChip and some Aladdins & DuoX I think).

Xapt3r

Ok so I take it that the New Xenium Solderless mod is the same? (works with a 1.6 Box) I have seen alot of people try to interchange parts on some of the chips with varying results. Any info would be good FYI for people.
