Xapt3r V1.6 lights and X2.6CE fragging

I installed a Xapt3r v1.6 in a 1.6b xbox and i have the light coming up red, red, yellow, green, blue.

I tried to program the 2.6CE with the Xecuter 2.6 programmer and X2 Bios Manager v2.3. I loaded "M8_Plus16.bin" on bank 1 and it filled bank 1 and 2 automatically. Loaded same file on bank 3 and banks 3 and 4 filled automatically. Flashed the chip and it went thru ok.

I put the chip on the Xapt3r, connected the red clip and got FRAG.

Now I'm not sure where my problem is:

1. the Xapt3r v1.6 that should light up red, orange, yellow green, blue
2. The flash that is problematic

Can somebody please help me with the troubleshooting?

you should get red, orange, yellow green, blue and your getting red, red, yellow, green, blue so it your install try to reseat xapter again have the right light then try chip
hold down xapter with one hand and screw down with other (try useing the screw out of mother board as well

DJBOOBY I reseted the Xapt3r several times already, use multimeter to check if Xapt3r was getting power to chip and no way I can't get an orange light. All I get is 2 red's. I pressed the chip down and powered the xbox and no orange light. Also I checked and re-checked houndred of times the position of each of the Xapt3r's legs and they are all in the correct spots.

Maybe the Xapt3r I got is bad. DOn't wanna spend money on another one and have the same problem, I wanna rule out the possibility of the xapt3r NOT being the problem before getting a new one.

I'm on that since 9am and feeling very, very frustrated. Can you or somebody give me a light on what can I do to rule out that Xapt3r is NOT my problem?

I think i got it resolved. Let me try a little bit more before posting my solution here.

Yeah, I got it working! It was the usual with no solders:contact.

I removed the MoBo and made sure that the grounding metal on the bottom touched the MoBo where the screw that holds the Xapt3r goes, got a tighter grip on that screw (the OEM that comes with the Xapt3r) and gave a very tight grip on the Xapt3r by inserting the chip before fastening the main screw even after that had to play a little with the chip to get the contact. Once got it booting ok closed the console very, very carefully and it's now good to go. shoudn't resist to shocks though as every no solder but it's booting perfectly the 5035 and METOO M8Plus 1.4.

By the way DJBOOBY, no orange light at all, just the 2 reds and it's working. How come?

Yeah, it's the only explanation. The lesson to be learned is that the lights on the Xapt3r being on do not necesserily means that the xapt3r made all contacts perfectly. Kinda useless light anyway. I tested to put the legs on wrong holes in purpose they still come up on the same color. I think they only check if the legs are receiving current and have nothing to do with the pogo contacts.

Not a good Idea, could have caused more damage than good.
