my xapt3r isnt lighting up - i desoldered the holes that the xapt3r needs, and seated it, screwed it in, and connected the D0 - but its not lighting

the samsung chip that is right next to the xapt3r prevents the xapt3r from lying flat on the motherboard... any advice??

what did you do to get it to sit right? im tring this on a 1.1 but im having problems getting it to sit right. i have to push down on the oposite side of the ground screw to get it to light up correctly. I belive it is sitting right but its hard to see with it sitting in the case. Wish they made it with some sort of lock washer so you could do the install with it out of the case.

if you cant fit the xapt3r - give up.

honestly

we have tried to dumb this down as much as possible - however the more you dumb it down the more dumber the install(er) seems to get.

i think our next mod will include an oom-pa-loom-pa from willy wonkas chocolate factory to fot the mod for you and he will self destruct once everything is working.

I'm gonna go out on limb and award Xecuter the "Best Post of the Year" Award for that one.

Haven't tried the Xapt3r, I'll be sticking with solder, Thanx.

yeah im too new with soldering to solder every wire - i got my hdd led working nice, but not my lan led

by loosening the screw it seems to work more persistently, however now i get frags every so often with it - annoying indeed

Look pal if you can desolder the LPC port you can sure as hell solder a dam pin header or even a rael easy task with solder already in the LPC port holes do a wire install of the X3 and be done with it...

You want be sorry .....NO FRAG's

The pin header install should be a breeze. Its a lot easier than desoldering the LPC points on a 1.0, especially if you don't even have to do the 1.6 rebuild. Just make sure you're using the proper watt iron (15-20w).

I would go to radio shack and buy the little 9$ 15w iron. It makes the job much easier. IE: its harder to burn the traces.
