Xapt3r Xecuter Version 1.4 or 1.5 XBOX 3 Flash Hangs @ 25%

ah, not so fast, that gets my xbox back to standard, with the modchip in i still cant flash the bios, i've found that the yellow bar is erasing the bios(this works fine) and the green bar is flashing, this hangs after 25%, i've seen the same problem on another forum but it wasnt answered there. i have a feeling that either me or my xbox will die tonight!
Man, your problem is making me pull out my hair thinking about it. Try this. Unplug the cable going from the chip to the X3 control panel and flash. It will automatically flash to banks 1234. If this doesn't work, i'm out of ideas.
Yes, It is acting as if you are flashing into a 256kb bank. ie. 25%. Hmmm.
Double check and make sure you didn't make your dummy file too big when you burned the disk. I believe it should be at 100mb. Put the disk into your computer and check the size. The total disk should be around 101mb.

Also if you get to pissed off tonight you might want to revisit the migraine (headache) in a day or two.
Most important don't give up. Xecuter will soon Rock Your Box.

was thinking along the same lines, i used another switchbank, tried with that and also tried without it connected, still same problem, i'll keep looking.
If you didn't dbl. check and make sure that the wires connected to the switch bank are secure, and then trace them back and make sure they are not piched or shorting out some where.

WOOHOOO!!!! bugger, i changed the switchbank lead and it worked first time, i'll be removing the other one and checking for damage, what a nightmare, still, sorted now!! many thanks for your help nartac and spurdy, you kept me sane through a trying time!!
Hey glad you got it working. I wonder why it didn't work when I asked you to disconnect the cable to the X3 control switch panel.

ah, thats because i disconnected at the switchboard end and not the X3 end, otherwise it would have been sorted earlier, although because you said that is the reason i went back and double checked the cable with the spare one. so you did solve it

This was my first mod and thanks to these forums and all of the great tutorials it went off without a hitch (aside from the hanging but since I got it fixed i'm not counting that )

Following what you guys said to do I did get it working but it still bugged me that it didn't work before, so I kept messing with it...
Before I tell you what the problem was I want to say thank you again, and I understand if I get flamed because it was a really stupid problem.
I had the dip switches on the front panel backwards, off instead of on and vise versa. I figure thats why it worked when I disconnected the panel.
I know, I'm a stupid noob
so I guess this means I did have a hitch in my install...

or you could have just not have the switch plugged in at all.$hane said:

hanging at 25% means the mod is not in 1mb mode. thats it. full stop. no trickery.
kinda been documented since last year so i have no clue why there is all this fuss?
