Ok, to start off I have read the threads about the Xapt3r and they said that it will be released this november but it doesnt look as though Team Xecuter will make that date... I was wondering if there has been an update that I'm not aware of... the news topic said it was released. Thanks in advance, Michael

0800 Drives

Hi,
Been planning to flash my 360. Just recently I realised you needed a special drive to copy discs. And ended up coming across 0800 drives. So just got a few questions, which i would love some help with. Let me know if i am breaking any rules with my questions.

1. Can any 360 drive be used for a 0800 drive. Eg. can i a just buy a benq 360 drive off ebay, and use that.

2. What kind of firmware do i use? I am guessing its not the same stuff used to flash drives to go into 360s. Can't seem to locate what is needed. Atleast not as easily as i could with 360 firmware.

3. Any such thing as a fake drive, since i came across some auctions on a local auction site, saying watch out for chinese fakes, and i don't know if they are referring to the ones sold on ebay?

4. Do i need to buy a connectivity kit to connect the drive up to my pc, or is there a way to get it work without. (assuming i don't have a spare 360 to use to power it).

2. 0800 fw or iX1.6/1.61(has half tray 0800 mode)
3. probably

Cheers for the quick response.
I take it this is a legit drive? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320498015054&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 I asked the guy, and he said yea, but just to check.

On firmware, I don't know why i didn't check xbins, but yea i found it, IXtreme 1.6 0800. But it says "Does not need to use the tray half open", which i am not too sure about since you are saying use half tray open.

Otherwise thanks for the help. I am quite excited to finally get this 360 mod project off the ground. A lot more work then i expected.

One last thing. Can i just use jungle flasher to flash this drive as well, following same steps as for console flashing.

half tray open is ONLY for the 1.6 or 1.61 versions
0800 does NOT require half tray (nor do you have to worry about keys and stuff - only for ripping use!)

yes that drive looks ok

Hi,
Just want to know where i can buy a simple connectivity kit to connect the benq drive to my pc? I live in NZ, and i can't seem to find anywhere which sells just the simple connectivity kit, which allows me to plug in power to my drive. Most places seem to only sell the more expensive CK3 etc.

Is there any easy way other ways to hook up my drive, inside my pc?
