OK, I'm looking to figure out when the 1.6 xapt3r is going to come out. Now, I'm not a date whore as others like to point out.

*
Should we be expecting this new 1.6 Xapt3r this week? Or sometime after christmas?
*

I'm just looking for a general idea since I will be attempting to mod my 2nd 1.6 motherboard. I overestimated my soldering capabilities on the first board!
If it is going to be long term wait, maybe I'll hunt down someone who has more skill than me. Or if it is coming relatively soon, I'll sit tight and wait for the 'non-destructive' solution.

Thanks!

I thought they shipped these last week? I am going to get one too since I am going to mod my Kasumi Chan LE Xbox and it will be my first mod attempt. I have no soldering skills and no iron, so I was also wanting a 100% yes or no as to whether the Xapt3r is totally solderless.

Thanks in advance.

The Non 1.6 Xapt3r will be with suppliers in a few days... There are no dates for the 1.6 Solderless adapter... With the Xapt3r LCD and Control Panel I don't think the 1.6 Solderless adapter will be out till after Xmas. The Xapt3r will be completely solderless... Hence it being a solderless adapter

Kasumi is a v1.0 so it sounds like good news for me all the way around...although some solderless still require a small amount of soldering.

the xapt3r requires no soldering. however you will still have to solder the hdd and lan points if you want the leds on the front switch to light up.

I wonder how the Xapt3r would be different for 1.6? You would still need to do the LPC rebuild right? Or is Team Xecuter also including a solderless LPC rebuild with the Xapt3r 1.6 version? Kind of like the Spider chip? Is there any reason why I can't just use the current Xapt3r on my 1.6 board as long as I still do the LPC rebuild? Unless the pins in the Xapt3r aren't removable since I know the 1.6 doesn't require the 5v pin. Too many questions, not enough answers. uhgg.

The point of the Xapt3r is so you don't have to solder! You probably can rebuild the LPC by soldering and then use the xapt3r, but by that point wouldn't it just make sense to just go ahead and solder the rest?

So the Xapt3r replaces the traditonal 16 Pin header but there is still some soldering to do. i.e. the switch leds, the LPC rebuild.

I think some folks are getting the impression that with the Xapt3r they would have a completely solderless solution but I don't see how that is possible unless the Xapt3r for 1.6 comes with something else not shown to us yet.

The Xapt3r only makes the Xecuter 3 a nearly solderless mod chip. Am I getting this right?

LiteOn 78450 LT1.1 Dirty Disk Error

I modded my LiteOn 78450 with the new LT1.1 and I am getting the Dirty Disk Error. I did the Origianl MRA Hack and dumped the complete Firmware. I am Using Verbatim DVD-DL media and all games are ran threw abgx360 but without Split Vid, could this be the problem? When I first modded the console it played fine for about 2 days (all games) now every game I try boot fine then give this error. I can install game to hard drive and it plays perfect. Any ideas?

Disk images must have splitvid. Does this problem only occur with burned games, or with originals too?

Thanks for the fast response!
I have not tested an original disk yet. But would it play fine for 2 days the all of a sudden stop?

Re: LiteOn 78450 LT1.1 Dirty Disk Error

You need to do more testing, if the same thing happens with original games then it's something wrong with your drive. If it only happens with your burned games, then it's something wrong with your burned games.

If it's your DVD drive then it can most likely be fixed by adjusting the laser pot.

For the problem to come up after two days it could mean that it's your DVD drive - so here is a tutorial for adjusting the pot:

Re: LiteOn 78450 LT1.1 Dirty Disk Error

I am still testing but its looking as if the pot will need to be adjusted. I really do not understand why it would though. This drive has been working perfectly, no errors, no freezing, nothing for as long as I have had it, 3 months, until I flashed the drive and then it went real quik. Even with the MRA hack where it takes the calibrations and adds to the LT flash, would it still need to be recalibrated?
Thanks for all the help

calibration data - is NOT USED by the drive - it's mearly test data from manufacture!
