Xapter & Xecuter2.6

I just bought a Xecuter 2.6CE Lite Kit & Xapt3vr 1.6 for my XBOX 1.6.
It came with a pcb rebuild and a whole bunch of wires.
When I was going to install the Xapter, the D0 wire/spring broke off the mod.It still makes contact with the board though.I plug in my xbox and all the colors light up.When I plug in the 2.6,I get 3 flashing blue lights,then it frags?
Is the problem the d0 wire, or do I need to install the pcb rebuild?

you do not need the lpc rebuild board
the D0 will not cause a frag
make sure the legs are making good contact with their corresponding points

when the Xapter is in by itself, all 5 colored lights are on.When I put the Xecuter 2.6CE on top, the it does the famous flashing blue sequence while turning on & off the xbox 3 times before fragging.When I disable the chip with the Xecuter 2.6CE still installed, it boots fine to Microsft dash.What could be causing the Xecuter 2.6CE to give me problems? I even tried switching banks!

I remembered a similar thing happened to me in the past so try the following:
1. Make sure that you have the Alt 5V "hook" hooked up to the correct point (check out the picture on the previous post) and onto the chip
2. What version of 1.6 do you have? If 1.6 then you should be using Bank 1 (FlashBIOS 3.0.1) and if your xbox is 1.6b (or more) then you should be using Bank 2 (3.0.3).
3. I had my xbox FRAG on me before because the IDE cable was not properly plugged into the HDD. Also make sure that your HDD is set to Cable Select.

Good information!
oK..I have my cd drive and a new blank hard drive hooked up with nothing on it.I didnt even flash anything yet.
Could this be the problem?

before you put in a new hdd, flash the chip with the stock hdd in and back up your c and e drive
after you've the got the bios flashed then your box will be able to read bootdiscs of a dash to enable ftp

yea,but shouldnt the bios come preflashed? I mean when I switch to bank 1 or 2, i see a black screen with fragging.I just want to know if the reason my Xecuter 2.6CE is fragging is because of the chip itself or because of the bios?
I checked the IDE cables and the red 5v is ok also.Im stumped!

ok..i got the mod to stop fragging.The led is solid blue.
Here is the next thing.Whether I select enable or disable,it boots to the xbox flubber screen.It doesnt matter which bank I choose either...is this any progress?

Nope..The only way I got the blue to stop flashing and shutting down was to put the Xecuter 2.6CE slightly onto the Xapter(not pushing it into place firmly).Thats the reason I think it only boots into the MS dash.Could it be I have a bad Xecuter 2.6CE chip? My Xapter lights up exactly as it should alone.!

It's good to see that you're getting somewhere closer to the solution I hope. A couple of things to note:
1. I think that by having the 2.6CE slightly on top of the Xapter, you're not making contact with the chip. Have it plugged in properly buddy. Getting a solid blue led on the chip I think is related to the fact that you've provided a good contact from the Alt 5V red "hook" to the chip.
2. Do you happen to have a friend who have a 2.6CE chip? You can borrow it and plug it into yours and see how you go. This will eliminate the possibility of a bad chip.
3. What ver of xbox do you have? Keep in mind that 2.6CE comes default with 3.0.1 BIOS on Bank1 and 3.0.3 on Bank 2. I remembered that I tried to boot 3.0.3 on my v1.6 xbox, the machine boot up on greeen and stayed constant on red (on the CD Eject button) and all that I can see on the TV is blue screen.
4. you might want to consider buying a Programmer and put on the correct FlashBIOS. But before doing this, see if you can "borrow" a chip for testing. I think that you can borrow other type of chips (eg 3CE) but you do have to make sure that a corretc FlashBIOS version is on it before plugging into your xbox.
5. Instead of using your new blank HDD, why not plug in the original one and see what happen? This way you can eliminate another question that you've asked.

I have a version 1.6 xbox. At this point I really have no other xboxes to test this on.
I really just want to narrow the problem down to either the Xapter or the Xecurer.The Xapter lights up fine with all 5 colors.The problems start with the Xecuter turning on and off.I think I ve searched all topics here and on other forums...anyone got anything else I could try??

I just rechecked and I actually have a version 1.6b.It shouldnt matter as I believe the Xecuter 2.6CE and Xapt3vr 1.6 will work on 1.6 and 1.6b.

If my chip is not letting me into either bank,is it possible to reflash using my computer

the chip should come pre-flashed with flashbios
if you are booting up your box and just seeing the ms dash like normal that means that your d0 is not making good contact with the point

you can use your pc to flash the chip if you have a programmer

Since I have the Xapter solder less..I believe leg a,b or c would touch the d0 point in the tutorials regarding this product.The Xapter lights up for all 5 legs.Im thinking its Xecuter chip itself .
