Hey all, I've been getting this error message:" File IO Error: The system cannot find the file specified." in the layout for XBC everytime I tried to burn a game, I've no problem backing games up, just burning them, now I know the files are good because I used the same excact method to burn and back up 4 games before this problem start to happens, does anybody ever have this problem?? I would be appreciate if anyone can help.

Also, I'm backing up with Samsung .81 Kreon, and burning with Pioneer 111D Verbatim.

Could it be because my Pioneer is failing? How can I tell if it is?

Thanks

try to FW upgrade your pioneer... seems to me your drive is faulty... or maybe you are running a sh*tload of background services/programs which could cause the burning process to fail.

Re: XBC Error Message:File IO Error: The system cannot find

They have the upgrades for free on Pioneer's website, mine came with 1.23 and I upgraded to 1.29 which I believe is still current.

Have you checked your harddrive for fragmentation? I've never had a burn fail because of this but when my hard drive was badly fragmented I was getting a ton of buffer delays while it waited for the hd to catch up with the burner. It took me almost twice as long as normal to read/burn anything.

Re: XBC Error Message:File IO Error: The system cannot find

You know, I think my problem is the HD, because my HD been paging like crazy lately, maybe its time to get a new one (+_+)

Thanks all

Re: XBC Error Message:File IO Error: The system cannot find

Mims,

Excessive paging is a memory issue, not a hard drive issue. If the system has used up all of the available RAM but still requires more memory it will utilise a predefined area on a hard drive called the page or swap file.

Excessive paging means the memory is all used up and is using the hard drive space more than necessary.

The fix is to install more RAM

Thanks Bryan I'll try new HD first and if it still cost problem then I'll get bigger Ram (don't know if that will fix my burning issue but it should help my comp. to be faster anyhow).

Thanks!
