Dang--Im determined to get everything working by thursday...

Got everything working- Got my Samsung TS-H943a drive connected to my VIA6421 PCI sata card- Windows recognizes the drive- Used 0800 disc to start things off, worked just fine...

When I open my VIA V-RAID monitor- I see that my drive is "General config ATAPI Device"

Heres the problem- When I load a disc into the drive, Xbox Backup Creator (Using gears of war) it reads the disc as being 4.00 TB!!! What the crap? and I cant push start under the read tab because its grayed out! I put in an audio cd, and I can load it off the drive no problem.

Can somebody shed some light on my problem?

what version of xbc are you using as there is version 2.5 out now thats fixed the unusual disc size problem you have to go to the drive tools tab and click on unlock drive a couple of times this should fix the disc size it will let you know when the drive is unlocked. have you selected your source dvd drive the one with the original in, in xbc on the main page at the top in the drop down list, sometimes i forget and it stays greyed out because it cant find the disc.

I got my cheap, like really cheap, I think I payed more for shipping, USB to SATA box today...put in the 0800 disc in the xbox, waited, then plugged in the usb converter and PRESTO CHANGO! Recognized in windows without having to reboot! And better still XBC Recognized the drive and I started my first backup! WOO...now hopefully it will continue...

But still-Any reasons why it wont operate properly using my Sata controller? I didnt try clicking the unlock drive multiple times..maybe that would change something--but nonetheless its working right now
