I have RGH'd my box, but then a few days later I logged onto live with my PC and discovered I have 900 MS points. I'd like to spend them but I know there's no way I can go on live with my box now.

Soo.... Can I sign on to my profile using a friends unmodded box, spend the points, get the content, transfer it to my USB HDD, then bring it home and put it on my drive? If I can at least get it onto an ext USB HDD I know what to do from there.

Or... can I use my xbox HDD, plug it up to friends xbox, and do the same thing? I have converted games to GoD. I don't know if MS has a way to detect any of that and don't want my buds box to get banned so I want to be extra sure one way or the other.

Once again the box I want to try it on is a friends VIRGIN never-been-modded or jacked with in any way.

Thought I'd add that my profile is clean as I have not been on live in some time and my box is unflagged. I know that still means I can't go on live with my xbox though.

No, that would be someone who wants to spend MS Points they PAID for and got tired of hunting discs so modded their xbox with products from TX so they would boot from dash.

if you buy content wile using his profile, then transfer it to your RGH there will be two owners of it! both you and your bud, and therefor it would be considered piracy!

Last time I checked their was nothing illegal about spending points I paid for, I know modding goes against TOS and all that though and didn't want anything to happen to my friends xbox. Thanks for an answer instead of accusations! :smile:

sorry misread...

as long as his profile is not signed in when your hdd with fsd, xexmenu etc. is in. i see no reason to worry! but to be safe you could use the usb hdd formatted as 360 MU..

Simple solution, flash your original nand back. Disable the glitch board, login to liv and spend your points.

Disconnect from live, flash your free boot image again and enable the glitcher board. Pronto. . . .

There are other ways to go around this but im not going to go into.

I thought of that but I was trying find another way. After all I went through getting RGH to work I just want to leave my nand alone for awhile.

Does not equal pirate and if he uses another xbox to download it from XBL he will have to unlock it from that xbox he used to download and lock it to his...unless you have proof you might want to lay off the pirate stuff. If someone is a pirate then Uber and the team will take care of them when it is deemed so by them not any of us. They do a really good job at kicking them where it hurts which is better than they deserve.Cog

ok just to tear apart your argument there. when you download anything to any xbox it is liscensed purely for that console and the profile that bought it. you can legally use it on another xbox with the profile that bought it if you are 1. signed into live while doing the playing otherwise it will revert to trial 2. using the transfer cable to transfer your licenses over to the other console.
so what matey is asking to do by downloading on a mates whether they really are paying for it or not is still legally questionable as the console he wants to play it on isn't the liscensed one.:rolleyes2:

Anyway back on topic, as already suggested probably best to disable the glitch etc on your own system than potentially harming someone elses.

your most likely correct mate but the forum rules exist on this to protect the forums existence so damn right i'm going to bash one a little if i see one. they have the ability to use thier brains like the rest of us do so they deserve all they get.

Obviously piracy cannot be talked about but I just thought the OP was wanting to spend and use the MS points he paid for by using a workaround. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

Using CFW on Live is against MS terms and conditions but thats okay to talk about same as converting games to games on demand. All the same thing.

Okay, seems like I'm being labeled by some as a pirate, which I am NOT. I think if you can't pay for it you don't need it. I own over thirty games and have had to perform the pot adjustment on my DVD laser as my HDD didn't have room to hold all my game installs, and after doing some research, decided to use the RGH as a way to use a larger HDD and play those games without thrashing my DVD drive.

Since I understand that modding consoles is not live safe, I was simply trying to find a way to PURCHASE content with my MS points, and then put them on my xbox, PERIOD. The only reason I was concerned about live ban was due to the GOD issue.

The content I unlocked? It became locked when I transferred it from the 4GB MU to my HDD. But it's MY content and I paid for it using the same xbox. I did not realize you could not transfer DLC from a MU to a HDD without having that issue. If unlocking content you already paid for is piracy that's news to me.

Now. I am only defending myself at this point. Discussing this pirate crap is bannable and if that happens to me then shame on some of you for jumping to conclusions and bringing it up in the first place. To those who helped (or tried to) I thank you.
