i have a 1.4 box with the latest x3 bios and latest evox dashboard and the latest XBMC release, the problem however is i cannot get XBMC to connect to the internet for allmusic.com lookups or even for the weather feature. i can however ftp into the box and connect it to the internet otherwise. I have the ip address already configured in the ini file and everything and on XBMC network settings it is on defaut/dash (as in use the ip that is programed into the dash) and it doesnt work, ive tried manually configuring it but i cant get it to work. anyone have any suggestions? please help.

How are you connecting it to the internet otherwise? Are you talking about a physical connection or are you actually able to access sources outside the local network? [/font]Have you tried enabling DHCP? Who is your ISP? You might want to check to see if you are required to register your MAC address with them. My ISP has an online form to fill out when you first connect something to the network. If you don't fill out the form you can still use the local network but it won't let you connect to anything outside. Since I couldn't access the registration page from the Xbox (until I got linksbox) I just had to call them and register it over the phone. Just some thoughts....

I had this same issue. I had to specify the DNS servers to get it to work. You can look up your DNS servers. Start menu/Run <cmd> inpconfig/all. Hope this helps.

Have you got internet connection sharing enabled on your internet connection?

(Do you use Avalaunch as an app? If so, do you get news feeds through it?)
