Xbone not loading games all the time?

Got an xbone that will not load games when the disc drive is installed in its proper placement, however when the drive is inverted or just moved from its proper place it does. Anyone have any suggestions? Warranty is void as it has already had the seal removed and it is second hand.

its not the laser tho. The drive will work everytime without the upper housing installed. I thought there was some sort of short somewhere, so I kapton taped the inside of the entire lower and upper housing. Also, if the drive is inverted it works everytime

See this reminds me of original PlayStation days when you had to turn your console on its side or upside down when it couldn't read backups!

It could be a pressure thing on the mechanism somehow?!

Drive arrived today. Newer revision that what was inside the xbone was sent, so I just swapped the deck instead of the whole drive. Problem appeared alleviated until console was reassembled. Same error (0x80820002).

I was told this is a firmware error microsolft is aware of it and is release a patch to clear this error up

hmmm... Sadly I don't believe that this is the case. The console updated itself the day I got it (when I posted this thread) and the problem persisted. It has not prompted me or told me of any updates as of today. I just finished a southbridge reflow just to eliminate that as a culprit. Sidenote, the drive that I received as a replacement has FW: C291 and HW: 0101 and the Microsoft branded chip on the board is replaced with a Mediatek chip. Not sure if this would help the scene any :cool2:

Nice to see you report back, not so nice to hear you still have issues.

I guess it's too late to send back to M$ for warranty repair...have you manually checked for updates in console settings?

I'm in the preview program and a few updates back my drive got screwed up not reading games but new update fixed it.
