Xbox 1.6 with x2.6lite frag

Hi all,

Can some1 please help me out. I have installed x2.6lite into a xbox1.6 and flashed it with x2 4983 before knowing i suppose to flash with M8. . .

Any how, it is now frag'in on both bank1 and bank2. With mod off, MS loads fine. (BTW, i flashed with 1MB x2 4983.67 bios)

How can i reflash my chip? I do have a x2.3lite programmer. Is that compatible?

Kewl, i will try it today. Look like it is flash not connected to the xbox. Is that correct? And is it better to flash with 2x256k of flashbios 3.01 and 2x256k of M8, so i can reflash using flashbios if needed later?

Yes, absolutely. The M8 BIOS won't work from Bank 1 anyways, so FlashBIOS on Bank 1 will allow you to flash at a later date should you want to.

Use FlashBIOS 3.0.3 if you have a 1.6b. Otherwise use 3.0.1.

I finally flashed my xbox with the following:
256k x 2 of flashbios 3.0.1 and 256k x2 evox m8+ 1.6

Bank1 now boot to flashbios 3.0.1.
Bank 2 start to boot and the EVOX logo is on the top left corner of screen then display everything as normal until it finish showing "microsoft" and then reboot itself to a error 21 screen.

Any idea what i need to do?

The HD is brand new untouched and the DVD is autoinstaller deluxe.

Someone else jumping right into the deep end without learning to swim.

Get your Xbox up and running before swapping HDDs!!!

Put back your stock HDD for now and you'll see it should go to the MS dash. This means your chip is working fine.

Once you're at the MS dash, insert your installer CD and see if it boots. If it doesn't then there's no point yet trying to install another HDD.

Ok this is what i did. Got another HD from x2.3lite box and put into the ew 1.6box with x2.6lite we are taking about and it boot fine. Autoinstaller deluxe came up just as it should. How can i swap HD now?

Does the MS Dashboard boot ok from this HDD (you'll probably need to lock it first - just remember to unlock it once you're done)?

If so, then I'd backup the C and E drive of this HDD and once you've swapped the drive and formatted the new one, copy them back over.

If you swap the HDD and get another error, then check the jumper settings on the HDD as you may need to change it from Cable Select to Master (or vice-versa).

Ok, here is what i got so far.

Boot with original HD and it boot to MS dashboard. Insert Autoinstall and it boot CD. Put new HD and receive error 21.

How can i replace with new HD?

Tut says installer CD should boot, but it does not with new HD.

Did you try this?

It's important as if the Xbox cannot find your HDD, it won't initialize it to load the CD.

Yeah i change the jumper around too. Xbox when loaded with flashbios bank1 regconized the HD correctly. WD 250gig.

Set it to CS as well as Master wit slave present.
I tryied to start it with retial HD load autoinstaller and then hot swap HD but autoinstaller will stall when trying to format Large HD.

I put new HD to old xbox1.3 i think with x2.3pro chip and it give me same error 21.

Boot without HD and it will give me error 16.

I am so stuck and don't know what else to try.

Ok - this is how to f**k up your HDD.

If your boot CD isn't booting when the HDD is attached, then no amount of formatting it on another Xbox will help.

What jumper settings do you have?

The jumper was CS as the DVD-rom was CS. It is currently set to master right now.

What's the full model # of your HDD?

I went thru all the settings and same result. It boot fine then auto reboot to error 21.

Does FlashBIOS detect both your WD HDD and your DVD-ROM?

Yes, the DVD drive is listed after the HD. This is shown on Flashbios bank1 but bank I can not tell anything because it just show evox screen then reboot afterward. putting a retail HD or Modded HD in and it boot fine from HD or DVD disk. only new drive is a problem. I also replace with different new HD which is another 250gig WD same model but same thing happended: error 21.

Here is what i did for the bios.bin file if that is a problem.

Using bios manager 2, I open flashbios 3.0.1 bin and it autoload into bank 1 and bank 2. Then i open M8+ 1.6 into bank 3 and it auto load in bank 4 too. But bank 3 and 4 says bios type unknown 256k. I saved it into Bios.bin and flashed using Network. It flashed fine and that is where we at.
