xbox 1.6 + x2.6 + old 8gb seagate hdd = error 6

just installed a x2.6 on a xbox 1.6, and i used the old hdd from a friends xbox (his old xbox was a 1.0 and a seagate 8gb hdd)

when i boot the xbox, i get error 6 and flashing green and red... i tried a brand new maxtor 160gb and it works fine.


any reason the seagate 8gb from xbox 1.0 wont work in a xbox 1.6? it has the MS dashboard and everything on it, but wont boot, only error 06

Take the old 8G back to your friends xbox and unlock it. Then it will work in yours.

my friend doesnt have a modchip, thats the only problem

when i load "Flashbios 3.0.3", i select "unlock HDD" and it reboots the xbox right away and goes back to the Flashbios 3.0.3.... when i switch to the x2 bios bank, i still get the same error

i guess it didnt unlock it?

It can't unlock it. The only way to unlock a locked drive is to do it in the original Xbox.
