[Story]
Basically I have been reading the forums on the problems I'm having, but would like to double check with someone knowledgable so here goes my detailed situation. I installed the X3CE in my 1.6 Xbox (Samsung Memory). Both the 3.3v and 5v leds light up on the chip, and I have the Blue X Logo coming from the External Switch, Flash Protection is also in the OFF position. I am able to disable the chip if hold the power button down and the External Switch shows Red X Logo. So everything seems good so I switch the flash bank to "on, on, off, off off" and tap the power button until the External Switch turns back to the Blue X Logo. I was able to get to the Flashbios 3.01 screen. I then attempted to flash the bios over the network with the latest X3 2913.bin, so I accessed the Xbox Ip via my computer thru http, and selected the bin file to flash. The http page then said "Modchip is being updated," so I go back into the other room and find out my Xbox is now off. I turn it back on, and the Xbox restarts twice, and then turns on.

[Problem]
I get a blank black screen, External Switch still shows the Blue X Logo, but the eject button is blinking Red/Green. I cannot disable the chip, but if I take out the chip and plug back everything to before, it would boot up normally.

[Fix-it Attempts]
I attempted to resolder pins 13 and 14 as talked about in the other post, but that was with NO FRAG, and I have a FRAG. After resoldering, I still had the same problem, I haven't tried to boot the backup bios yet.

[Question]
Would this be due to a Bad install, or Bad bios flash? I don't really want to take apart the xbox again unless someone can comfirm it's a bad install, Thanks.

Could it be that I flashed the wrong bios? I didn't flash it with the 2913 v16plus version. Gonna check when I get home in a few hours. :) Hopefully this will fix the problem if I can boot the backup bios.

I would definitely redo the flash since you didn't use the bios version for 1.6 xboxes. You should be using X3 2913 v16plus.bin bios.

I booted the backup bios, and then flashed with the X3 2913 v16plus.bin bios and everything is now working, thanks nartac for the reply.

I had exactly the same problem with my Xbox 1.6b and X3CE. when I tried Flashing 2914 using flashbios 3.0.3. See [story]. So 1. Thanks to iamfoeshe for describing the problem and 2. A bigger thanks to nartac for solving the problem.

Just one question why did bios 2914 not work?
