xbox 1.6b HELP!!! switch ? or lpc rebuild ?

Ok i have 2 problems 1 is the switch on front will not light up.


the other is the chip boots and then nothing just hangs on xbox green logo.

there is no flashbios.

ive read all the tuts and im aware i need to flash chip in another machine.

will the switch on the front now work.

Ok update just flashed chip in my other machine flash was fine.

stuck chip back into xbox the 1.6b and same switch isnt lit up.

Same hang on xbox green logo.

NOTICED XECUTER 3 LED IS ON...

but switch is still off...

Ok ive now flashed the chip with new bios from my 1.3 board no problems at all.

when i put this chip back into my 1.6b everything powers except the switch on the front so i just hang at ms logo.

is it just the switch or is it my rebuild i used the x3 rebuild kit..


any help will be great

Ihave checked all points and all seem to be connected. everything is connected.

I havent ever had a problem until this 1.6b.. :evil:

Yes m8 im using the 1959 bios

But as you no i had to flash it using my older xbox which im sure is flashbios 3.01.


Still dont explain the switch not working tho or do you think this is the problem ?

Do u have both blue LED on the X3 lighting up when plugged into your 1.6b?

Do the LAN and HD led light up on the switch?

The mod now works i resoldered everything had same problems.

Reflashed the chip with new bios now all working and fine, fantastic.

I have got the same problem with my 1.6 and X3. I installed it ok and it was working perfectly for about 2 weeks. Flashed the BIOS ok, setup a dashboard and configured some games. Rebooted it after changing the CD and the chip didn't load. Now when I press the power button the control panel doesn't light up and it boots the standard MS bios.

I have dismantled it and resoldered all the points and I am happy that they are all making good contact (made a good job of it initially). The blue LED on the chip glows happily but it doesn't seem to load. I have been told it may be a problem with the chip getting power but if the LED is lighting up then it must be.

Any ideas?

Two benq drives-one stock and one flashed?!

I wanted to know if i could possibly do this. i want to have one benq drive stock for when i play a game like cod online and have the other benq drive flashed for when i want to play a copy offline. i was looking on ebay and they sell benq drives cheap. does anyone know if i could jus swap out drives when ever i want to do this? thanks

but you would obviously flash in the keys from your original drive into the new one
