I have a crystal xbox 1.6b (hynix ram) and installed a xecuter3 SE. I was not able to get to the Flashbios screen with any of the following settings (on,on,off, off), (off,on,off, off), (off, off, off, off), (on,on,on,on). It would just leave me with a black screen, no frag. I realize that this is due to the fact that those banks were flashbios version 3.0.1 and would not boot on my 1.6b. I have also never been able to boot into the backup bios as i am led to believe that it is because it is also flashbios 3.0.1.
However it would boot into flashbios 3.0.3 with the settings [off, off,on,off] (90%sure thats what it was). I tried to flash to the X3_1959_v16plus bios, but didn't change the front panel switches. The bios loading process froze at 1/4 of the way, i was forced to reboot. Now i cannot boot back into the that flashbios at all, the xbox just turns off and back on again twice, then frags. When it is set to [off,on,off, off] it now does the same fragging, whereas it used to be black screen. Still black screen when trying to boot to backup bios or [on,on,off, off] +others.
I have read the forums for hours and have not been able to find a solution. Sorry for the long post, hope it was descriptive enough. Is there some way to boot a bios from a bootable disc and flash it from that? I really hope that the chip is not ruined. Thanks in advance for any help.
