Hi guys, have just bought an Xbox 360 250GB from middle east. It came along with 6 games for year 2011 and 2012. None of them play, whenever i insert the CD, it gives a message that my Xbox needs to be updated. I was told never to update as it will burn some chips inside. But if i play games from 2010 and 2009 - they run smoothly. I am very much with game consoles - but am very good with computers. PLease HELP!!!!

how do i update the system - it says i need to download it from Xbox website. Need desperate help - as i dont understand much about game consuls.
Is this console modified in any way? If it is not modified, you can update it right from the disk.

from what i understand this Xbox has been modified. Coz it can play burned disks for year 2009 and 2010 like Sega rally, fifa 2010. But it cant games from 2011/12. If i do update from the website - will it effect the xbox in anyway? Or do need to flash it? I am from Kenya africa.
