Xbox 360 CD-ROM problems

I have looked everywhere adn I can't find any help on this. My son's Xbox 360's CD-rom will take his cds but will not stay shut to play them (it closes and then opens back up). Has anyone had this problem and if so is there any way to fix it or do we need to send it in for repair?

Is this a console that has or has not been modified? If you press the eject button twice, will it stay closed?

I actually had two problems with my drive. Sometimes it would get "stuck" when opening, and sometimes it would pop back out when closing. Sometimes I couldn't open it and sometimes I couldn't keep it closed !

A rubberband fixed all my problems.
