Hello Everyone.

I have an xbox 360 E with the 4gb memory. I have added a 320 gb hard drive since i bought it and have been trying to do this xbox live update for about a week. I've tried updating on various networks, tried doing the LB RB X LB RB X multiple times and I also tried the offline update. There was a system engineer who posted on the xbox360 official forums that he thinks something must've turned the internal memory to read only as any changes he made weren't being saved. So i took the 320gb hard drive out and tried turning on family settings, saved those settings and restarted the console. What do you know, it didn't retain the settings. I tried to format the internal hard drive and it acts like it did it but all the data remains.

I was reading around and noticed that on the xbox 360 Slim 4 gb model there is a way to move the internal hard drive as it is literally just a clip, I've been doing a lot of research and can't find anything that says if the xbox 360 E 4gb version is a similar process. I'm wondering if its possible to just remove the internal memory because there's obviously something wrong with it and have everything run off the external hard drive.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can remove/repleace only Trinity 4GB module, for Corona is a BGA chip.I saw something on youtube, that you can use HDD for updates on corrupt 4GB memory.

Nowhere
4gb internal memory on alllll coronas is built into the nand chip,so this console will need to be converted over to 16mb,very common issue on these things now.

thanks for the input. It's a friend of mines xbox and she needs one very soon because of her son. It's still under warranty, I tried what Alexander_1333 posted but unfortunately the profiles showed back up when I restarted the xbox. I'm going to tell her shes better off sending it off to Microsoft.
