xbox 360 freeze's on startup

hi peeps....have my xbox aboout 1 year....and about 10 months [email protected] 10 days it started to freeze while playing...now it freezes everytime on startup....sometimes gives me 3 red lights and then starts up again and freeze...should i try the rubber trick as i did for a friend and works just fine? Is it something else?

Try replacing the X-Clamp heatsinks with machine screws and at the same time replacing the thermal paste.

Well i've made the rubber trick and it doesn't freeze...
It makes 2 red lights after 2 minutes....i've checked all the connectins with 2 different cables and still nothing.....
Tommorow i'll try the thermal paste...

and still freezes....any thoughts.....too bad to waste the 360 unit...

Like I said before, your best chance is the X-Clamp replacement.

i'll do that(it seems weird to work with this, but u know)..... i thought of installing a bigger cooler...from a PC maybe....wouldn't that be better? I'll use the pins from the xbox fans....the cables r the same.....they are all 12V...right?

FIXED IT...so simple......how come these idiots who sell us the unit for 400.00 Euro didn't do it from the start....completely unprofessional job.....i'll mod the case foe better viewing results....damn the idiot warranty....i can fix it by myself...
I've just took the stdr fans to send the air straight up to the coolers.....

my 360 goes from 3 red lights - fixed
2 red lights - fixed
and now nored lights ...it just freeze's....

any ideas?

just replaced the X-lamps and after 15 rounds on CM Dirt (in this game overheat was vey often thing to happen) everything seems to be right......thanx for everything...you guys Rule....
