Hello all,
So recently, I was feeling like a real badass, so I hooked up my 500GB XBOX drive (unmodded, complelely stock) to my Windows machine and formatted it for some extra storage I needed. I had no idea that I was on a road to xbox hell. When I plugged the hard drive back into the xbox's sata port, I went into System>Storage and got the dreaded message of "No Storage Devices found." I hooked it up back to my PC and the drive displayed perfectly. So I picked up my SATA to USB adapter and hooked it up to the USB port of my xbox. The drive shows up, but apparently I'm allowed to use only 32 gigs of storage. I was like "oh hell naw. I ain't gonna live off of 32 gigs." So after some googling, I got the HDDSS.BIN for my hard drive and learned about HDDHACKR. Here's the problem. Because the hard drive of the xbox is stock, it is still in its case. And despite hours of my best efforts, I cannot get that son of a b**ch to open. Now I don't have a PC and am stuck with a laptop, meaning I can't get my xbox HDD to connect to the main SATA port. I do have a SATA to USB, but HDDHACKR doesn't want to detect it. I'm stuck with a bricked xbox HDD with the corresponding HDDSS.BIN, a SATA to USB adapter and a laptop. Can anyone tall me how I can recover my xbox HDD's ass? I have heard of some HEX tools that may help me, so I'll keep this thread updated with details. I am new to this, so please spare my life if I haven't provided enough information or if I posted in the wrong section or if I said something stupid. I'll say everything I know right now:
It's a completely stock 500GB XBOX 360 Elite HDD (and yes, it goes into an XBOX 360 E as well)
I have a Toshiba SATA to USB adapter
As far as I know, my console has the latest dashboard
My PC is running Windows 8.1, Windows XP and Linux.
I greatly appreciate any assistance in advance.
Sincerely,
Apoorv Chauhan
